This is an original British Revolutionary War era Short Land Pattern Brown Bess flintlock musket assembled at the Tower Armory and faintly regimentally marked to the 5th Regiment of Foot. The 5th was sent to Boston in 1774 as tensions in the American colonies escalated and elements of the regiment were engaged at Lexington and Concord in April 1775 and at Bunker Hill that June. After the evacuation of Boston, the
