This Pattern 1826 Eagle Breast Plate with lead filled back was ground dug (excavated) in the 1960s at Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Both mounting loops are still attached but are rusty. The front brass face retains surprisingly crisp details and has aged wonderfully. Minor defects, dents, dings and a slight bend, typical of excavated Civil War relics.
