Bluhme was named a Lieutenant in 1852 and served with the French military forces from 1856 to 1859

The couple are buried together in Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto

all of the aforementioned featuring fully-intact and functional luminous paint for clear nighttime use

Of Czech manufacture, in silvered bronze, a cross pattee with center presenting St. George, reverse is unmarked and unnumbered, measures 36. 5mm (w) x 42. 0mm (h), weighs 12. 4 grams, worn on original ribbon, heavily oxidized, a scarce decoration in near very fine condition.
