Sweden, Kingdom. An Order Of Vasa In Gold, 1St Class Commander, C.1815 Newly Listed before the Battalion left Canada(Kungliga Vasaorden). Instituted 1772. Type I (1772 1844). A very early, Napoleonic period award, in Gold with fine red enameling, with separately applied wheat stock at centre, measuring 28 mm (w) x 58 mm (h inclusive of integral ring suspension), weighing 19. 2 grams, with large elongated loop to accommodate large original green neck ribbon, extremely fine and rare.
